Snowing, waiting for powder

Taking it slow. Slept in since it was going to snow all day. Time to do some maintenance... Fixing a full black water tank with twigs from the forest. We seem to be OK again. Really hope I don't need to do this again. Also checked the house batteries, the batteries does not last a whole night with the furnace on, which is a must. One battery had 2 (out of 6) dry cells, filled them up with distilled water. Hoping this will solve the battery power issue.

Hiked in the snow into town of Revelstoke for lunch. Real nice hike, but we took taxi back to the RV resort.

Talking to people in the hottub about the ski day tomorrow with all this snow coming got us hoping for a super powder day.

There is a lot of hoping going on.  We are stoked, Revelstoked!

Vancouver

Stayed in Vancouver for 2 days. And what pleasant days it was!

Found a RV park a sky train ride away from down town. A good place to recharge the batteries in a double sense.

Seattle

A 29 feet motor home isn't something you easily find a parking spot for in a big city like Seattle... The Park and Ride parkings on Mercer island were full when we arrived before noon and we take at least two parking spots, that has to be in front of each other. Else we use four. In pure desperation we stoped by a community center to ask for advice, since Jenny is so nice (or desperate) we got to use their parking over the day! Took the bus down town and then the mono rail to the space needle. At the space needle we went to MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture, http://www.mopop.org/). They had a special exhibition about Minecraft so we where all good.

Seattle was a real nice town. Loved the vibe, street food and more. Resembles San Fransisco with steep hills and interesting places. But did not see many homeless people.

I-5, Oregon and Portland

Manly driving the I-5 today. Made a lunch stop in Oakland, Oregon. A small town where not much is happening. One café/restaurant but at least 7 antique stores.

Also stoped in Portland for sightseeing and dinner. A sad sight with all the homeless and crazy people. At least as bad as in San Fransisco. And it is colder in Portland. Poor people.

Staying the night in our first Walmart parking lot. Tomorrow is Seattle, where we will stay for at least one night!

First day, breaking new grounds!

It was hard to leave for all of us, especially for Theo. He walked with friends to school and had a second goodbye with friends and girlfriend, Erin.
We left our home before noon and reached Yreka in our first day. This is further north than we ever been before.

This is the before picture. Let's see how we look in New York!

Where to go and what to do?

Made the first revision of our travel plan, the dates are in no way final and not all stops as well.
Looking for advise of stops we can do and/or what to do. A restaurant recommendation, a nice hike or a good RV stop along our way would be greatly appreciated.
